The Social Geographical Outline of Provincial Towns’ Modernization in Vas County

Abstract

In my essay I surveyed how the provincia) towns of a border region accommodated to the new progression that took place after the political transformation. I also examined the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the development of these towns. I looked into the successful alteration (modernization) and whether the examined towns were winners or losers of the transformation. However, the latter towns may possess conditions which may later give them an advantage. At the same time it is important to note that among our small towns there was no real competition. In many cases they competed for their existence and wanted to obtain developmental sources instead.
